Giro 2019: Bilbao wins last mountain stage, Carapaz still in pink

The last mountain stage on the Giro serves a total of more than 5,000 vertical metres. The race comes down to a five-up sprint with Pello Bilbao taking the spoils ahead of Mikel Landa. Richard Carapaz stays in the overall lead.

Giro 2019 Route stage 20: Feltre – Croce d’Aune/Monte Avena

Saturday 1 June - The 20th stage of the Giro d'Italia is the last challenge in the high mountains and amounts to 194 kilometres. The route travels over the Cima Campo, Manghen and Rolle passes before a final haul up on the Passo Croce d’Aune and Monte Avena. The last 1.5 kilometres uphill are averaging 10.5% before a short descent to the line.

Since the last race is an individual time trial, the climbers have to choice but to attack in the ultimate mountain race.
