Stage 19 in the 2016 Vuelta a España is tailor made for ITT specialists. Men with big engines. The route is among the flattest in this year’s Vuelta, albeit it the highest point lies at an elevation of 170 metres.
Yet, where are the ITT specialists in the 2016 Vuelta. No Cancellara, no Tony Martin, no Tom Dumoulin. So that’s an opportunity for Chris Froome to race to stage victory.
Except for the short opening time trial in the Giro, stage 19 in the Vuelta is the first flat chrono-race in this year’s Grand Tour season.
