Tour of Britain 2022 stage 5Thursday 8 September - The 5th stage of the Tour of Britain is played out on an undulating route of 186.8 kilometres long. With less than 1,400 metres of climbing it's the flattest stage of this edition.

Ian Stannard won the race from West Bridgford to Mansfield in the 2018 edition of the Tour of Britain. He dropped his breakaway companion Nils Politt 17 kilometres before the finish line and soloed to victory.

The race to Mansfield takes place on a different route. The riders move through Cotgrave, Gedling, Southwell, Retford and Worksop to continue into Mansfield via Clumber Park and Sherwood Forest. Only two classified climbs underway – Keyworth (900 metres at 3.4%) and Sparken Hill (400 metres at 8.5%) -, the latter with 30 kilometres remaining.

The first three riders on the line gain time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds.
