Tour Down Under 2015: Route stage 6 - Criterium Adelaide

andre greipelSunday, January 25 – The exact route of Tour Down Under’s closing stage is still in the shades, but odds are it will be a criterium in and around Adelaide. In both 2013 and 2014 it was André Greipel receiving the kisses, so that must be ample information – today it´s sprinters alert! (Slideshow route/profile)

Tackling twenty laps on a 4.5 kilometres circuit, the riders are battling it out in the heart of Adelaide as they tackle 20 laps of a 4.5 kilometre circuit. If the GC is not a foregone matter the race will be extra thrilling since the winner earns bonification seconds.

Start and finish will be at King William Street, while riders eyeing op the mountains classification should be wide awake at Montefiore Hill (grade 2.53%, points in laps 10 and 15).

Edition 2014 saw a closing stage in twenty loops of a little over 4 kilometres each, totaling 85.5 kilometres with André Greipel taking the win.

The finish is expected around 2.00 pm (ACST).
