The Manx Missile is on fire this Tour. He won four out of five sprints. The only other succesful fast man, Tim Merlier, pulled out of the race in the Alps.
Cavendish has won on the Champs-Élysées four times, although it has been awhile. He powered to victory on the final day of action in four straight Tours from 2009 to 2012.
With his win in Carcassonne last week, Cavendish matched Eddy Merkcx’ all time record of 34 stage wins at the Tour de France. So a new triumph would cap off his incredible comeback.
