Tour de France 2020 Favourites stage 14: Classics riders in Lyon

The 14th stage of the Tour de France is a race for Classics riders. With hardly a flat metre underway, the last 15 kilometres are bound to ignite the fireworks big time. Three climbs in short succession lead onto a virtually flat finale.

In the first half of the race, which is almost 190 kilometres in length, the riders crest the Côte du château d’Aultiribe, Col du Béal and Côte de Courreau, but the real action is saved for last. Inside the city perimeters of culinary hotspot Lyon the organisation serves the day’s main dish.

The last 10 kilometres of the race include two uphill sections. First the riders reach the top of the Côte de la Duchère after a 1.6 kilometres climb at 5.6%. The race continues to the Côte de la Croix-Rousse, a 1.8 kilometres climb at 4.8%. The riders fly down towards the Rhône River to enter the last 2 kilometres on the flat.
