The route continues along the stunning Lake Yamanaka to reach the next summit almost 20 kilometres later. Peaking at 1,451 metres, the 14.3 kilometres climb at 6% is crested after 140 kilometres in the saddle.

Following a 15 kilometres descent and 40 kilometres of undulating terrain, the race passes through the Fuji Speedway racetrack before hitting its final loop. A tough course.
Hard to see a sprinter getting through to win it.
But surely a four-man team stands a better chance than smaller ones?
