Race report
Five riders distance the peloton at km 2. Rob Britton, Bruno Langlois, Alex Cateford, Nicolas Dougall and Guy Sagiv put more than 6 minutes into the peloton.

With two laps left the Britton and Langlois are the last men standing. Peter Kennaugh jumps across before he goes alone with 16 km remaining. The British rider crosses the line for the last lap with a 20 seconds lead. Frank, Fuglsang and Carpenter are chasing, while Brown, Earle and Gaudu rejoin them. But the six are brought back.

Kennaugh is almost caught on the Côte de la Potasse, but he keeps on pushing… And pushing… And pushing… Until he cracks with 300 metres out. Michael Matthews outguns Greg Van Avermaet and Jasper Stuyven with a clear margin in the uphill sprint.
