The race climbs false flat to its highest point Cimabanche. The 1,530 metres peak is crested after 30 kilometre, while the rest of the race travels virtually all downhill. After 85 kilometres of non-stop flying down the mountains a climb to Pieve d’Alpago demands to change gears and a little later La Sella di Fadalto is crested before the drop continues.
The last 60 kilometres are flat – yet, from a technical point of view, it still goes slightly downhill. Conegliano, with 65 kilometres out, is located at an altitude of 62 metres and the finish line at 13 metres.
Fast finishers, on your marks… get set… go!
The first three riders on the line win time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the second intermediate sprint – at kilometre 205.1 – comes with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
