World Cycling Championships 2015 Richmond: Favourites road race

The route of the WC-road race in Richmond is an attrition featuring short, steep climbs and cobbled sectors. So that's the type of parcours for the specialists of the Flemish spring classics. Cyclingstage.com brings you the major contenders for the rainbow jersey.

The last 4.5 climb of each round features four short climbs: E-main street (350 metres at 6%), Libby Hill Park (250 metres at 7.6%), 23rd Street (260 metres at 11%) and Governor Street (290 metres at 6.9%). The last climb turns into a false flat (1%) for the final 700 metres.

Riders who are at ease in the Tour of Flanders are the ones with the best chances to win Richmond. Think the likes of Greg Van Avermaet, Niki Terpstra and Flanders title-holder Alexander Kristoff.

*** Greg Van Avermaet, Alexander Kristoff, Niki Terpstra
** Peter Sagan, Zdenek Stybar, John Degenkolb, Simon Gerrans
