The parcours is going either up or down for the entire day. Shortly after the start the riders enter a 5.1 kilometres climb at 3.3% and following a rolling section of almost 50 kilometres the second climb is 3.2 kilometres long and averages 7.6%. Without a descent the route continues onto the Alto del Torno, adding another 7.6 kilometres at 6%.
A calm phase ushers in the longest climb of the day. The Mirador del Fito adds up to 9 kilometres and the average gradient sits at 6%. The riders are halfway there at the summit.
The inclinations are more stretched out in the second part of the stage. Two climbs stand out: Alto de la Llama (7.1 kilometres at 5.1%) and La Campa (9.3 kilometres at 4.1%). The riders then continue over a series of short climbs towards the foot of Les Praeres de Nava. Which is a short and steep monster. From base to top the gradients are hovering between 10 and 15%, with the exception of a short section at 4.5% just before the flamme rouge and two ramps at 23 and 24%.
