Vuelta 2014 stage 7Friday, August 29 – Stage 7 in the 2014 Vuelta leads from Alhendín to Alcaudete. In 169.0 hilly kilometers riders go from A to A.

Still we are in the deep south of Spain and still there is no piece of flat land around. Few towering peaks as well for that matter. The trail goes uphill-downhill and steepest parts are a 3rd category hill (at 38 kilometres) and in the 2nd (at 121 kilometres).

After passing the finish line in Alcaudete for the first time the riders go for an additional 55 kilometres. The arrival is at the middle of the climb to Alto Ahillo and the last 2.2 kilometres know an average gradient of 3.9 %.

Arrival town Alcaudete is build around a castle which was founded a thousand years ago on a plain surrounded by mountains. Beautiful small town, located at 676 meters altitude.

The stage starts at 13:20 (CET) and the finish is expected around 17:40.
