Tour of the Basque Country 2017 Route stage 6: ITT in Eibar

Tour of the Basque Country 2017 stage 6Saturday, 8 April 2017 - The Tour of the Basque Country comes to a halt with a 27.7 kilometres time trial. Straight from the gun a climb before the last 10 kilometres are on rolling terrain.

After rolling off the starting ramp the riders tackle the 6 kilometres climb at 6.7% to Elgeta. They plunge down to Bergara and turn left to Osintxu. The route continues back to Eibar for a run on a circuit that should suit the chrono-specialists. No climbs, just pushing hard on flat to gently rolling roads.

Last year, Alberto Contador powered to the win in the individual time trial in the Tour of the Basque Country. He put 18 seconds into overall leader Sergio Henao, which was enough to take the GC 12 seconds ahead of the Colombian.
