Race report
Adam De Vos, Ruben Companioni and Jonny Clarke open up a gap, which they gradually widen to almost 6 minutes. Companioni captures the maximum amount of KOM points on the first four climbs before the three are reeled in with 17 kms remaining.

On the lower slopes of the last climb leader Gaviria is dropped. And he is not the only one. Some tem riders left 2 kms before the top. Then Egan Bernal speeds up to distance the others. Antwan Tolhoek is the first chaser, while Van Garderen, Majka, Martinez and Yates are further back.

Bernal is in a class of his own and takes the win. Behind him Majka and Yates claw back to overhaul Tolhoek, but the Colombian is on a roll. It will be hard to deny him the overall win.
