Race report

The riders reach the summit in that order. Jai Hindley and Nicolas Roche sit in fourth and fifth.

Vingegaard joins Schachmann momentarily on the plateau at the top of the Lukmanier Pass before he drops back again in the descent. Roche overhauls the young Dane before he also takes back Schachmann.

On the finish climb, Roche comes closing in on Dennis. The winner of stage 3 brings the gap down to less than 100 metres in the last kilometre, but it is too little too late.
