Race report
Tom Devriendt jumps clear at kilometre 4 and nobody shows any interest to join him. He carves out a gap of more than 9 minutes and after a long day at the front the lone attacker is brought back with 26 kilometres remaining.
Julian Alaphilippe takes 1 bonus second in the second intermediate sprint.
In the ensuing bunch sprint Sam Bennett goes down and Caleb Ewan doesn’t get the chance to sprint either. Instead young Iván García moves to the front to hold off each and everyone. Peter Sagan sprints to second place, while Andrea Pasqualon finishes in third.
Max Schachmann remains the overall leader in Paris-Nice.
