The hardest race of the Giro traverses four climbs to finish at Tre Cime di Lavaredo. Santiago Buitrago overhauls his breakaway companion Derek Gee with 1.5 kilometres to go and he solos to victory. Primoz Roglic takes back 3 seconds from Geraint Thomas, but the Welshman retains the maglia rosa.

Giro 2023 Route stage 19: Longarone – Tre Cime di Lavaredo

Friday 26 May - Possibly the hardest route of the entire Giro is saved until the last three days of action. Stage 19 ascends to an elevation of 2,000 metres in the first half to serve five giant peaks in the second. The race adds up to 183 kilometres, while the finish line is situated on Tre Cime di Lavaredo.
