The 55th edition of the Amstel Gold Race will be held on Sunday 18 April. With narrow roads, dozens of hills and constant twisting and turning the race opens a trilogy of three Ardennes Classics. Founded in 1966 the Amstel Gold Race is the only Classic in the Netherlands, while their neighbours in Belgium have plenty. For years the Cauberg was the last climb, but this scenario was first altered in 2017 in favour of a finale with Geulhemmerberg and Bemelerberg. (Slideshow route/profile)
Mathieu van der Poel is title holder. He won the 2019 edition ahead of Simon Clarke and Jakob Fuglsang, while the race was called off in 2020.
