Vuelta 2020: Bennett outsprints Philipsen, Roglic stays in red

Sam Bennett and Jasper Philipsen survived three tough days at the Vuelta to showcase their fast legs in Ejea de los Caballeros. The young Belgian opens the sprint early, but the Irishman overhauls him just before the line. Primoz Roglic stays in the overall race lead. (Slideshow route/profile)

Race report
Harry Tanfield, Luis Angel Mate, Jesus Ezquerra and Willie Smit attack from the gun to open up a gap of 4 minutes before the peloton takes the reins.

The lead group disintegrates in the last 25 kilometres before it all comes together with 15 kilometres to go.

Jasper Philipsen opens early in the ensuing sprint and Sam Bennett reacts with a powerful jump to pip him at the line.

Primoz Roglic finishes safely in the bunch to retain the maillot rojo.
