Volta a Catalunya 2015 Route stage 7: Barcelona - Barcelona

Volta a Catalunya stage 7Sunday, March 29, 2015 - For years, the Volta a Catalunya is set to finish in Barcelona. Just like in 2013 and 2014 both start and finish are in the Catalan capital, this time after a 126.6 kilometres ride. The closing circuit is no picnic, cresting Alto de Montjuic eight times.

The finale of the closing stage was similar in last two editions with eight local rounds featuring the Alto de Montjuic, and this year it will be no different. Montjuic offers a 2 kilometres climb at 5.7% with a steepest section at 8% just before cresting. The climb is on the menu first with 50 kilometres to go while the last uphill toil is done with 3.9 kilometres left.

Early in the race Alt de Castellbisball lays waiting, a 3.7 kilometres climb at 3.5%. Just like Montjuic a 3rd category endeavour.
