As the crow flies the departure town of Toucy is 143 kms from Paris. If the crow wished to continue, it would take him 84 kms to the circuit of Magny-Cours. The riders don’t have it so easy however with stage 3 of this year’s Paris-Nice taking in 180 kms through the heart of France.
From 1991-2008, ‘Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours’, as it’s officially called, hosted The Formula One French Grand Prix. Today the tarmac welcomes a totally different species of speed demon with a likely sprint showdown when Paris-Nice visits the circuit for the first time. The last 500 meters are going slightly up.
All stands will be freely accessible so big crowds of racing fans of all types are expected. The public have been granted access to the paddock as well on the day, a great oppurtunity as normally spectators have restricted access to many parts of the circuit.
The stage starts at 11:30 (CET) and will finish around 16:00.
