Race report
A group of fifteen riders jumps off the front after the re-start due to a crash. Victor Campenaerts, Bauke Mollema, Simone Consonni, Stefano Oldani, Harm Vanhoucke, Dario Catado, Sebastian Molano, Albert Torres, Nikias Arndt, Max Walscheid, Lukasz Wisniowski, Oscar Riesebeek, Lars van den Berg, Quinten Hermans and Dries De Bondt carve out a lead of 12 minutes before the finale ignites.
Campenaerts accelerates with 22 kilometres to go before Torres and Riesebeek jump to his wheel. Torres can’t follow the pace on the climb to Cornje Cerovo.
In the technical finale a tactical battle unfolds before the duo enters the home straight together. Riesebeek opens the sprint, but Campenaerts powers past his breakaway companion to snatch the victory.
Bernal finishes safely in the peloton to extend his GC lead.
