La Flèche Wallonne Femmes 2024: The Route

La Flèche Wallonne Femmes 2024Wednesday 17 April – The women's Flèche Wallonne is played out on a route of 146 kilometres with seven climbs. The steep Wall of Huy is included twice - as always, once as the finish.

La Flèche Wallonne Femmes starts and finishes in Huy. The race opens with a 115 kilometres loop, in wich the riders are to conquer the Côte de Gives, Côte du Courrière, Côte d’Evrehailles and Côte d’Ereffe. The latter is also part of the finishing circuit, that’s tackled twice in its entirety.

The Ereffe is 2.1 kilometres long and goes up at 5%. A descent of 11.5 kilometres leads to the foot of the Wall of Huy. It opens relatively easy, but after 400 metres the gradient kicks up to more than 10%, only to drop to 6% when the riders enter the 100 metres home straight. The Wall is 1.3 kilometres and averaging 9.6%.

Anna van der Breggen won the race seven times in a row in the period in 2015-2021. Marta Cavalli took over the baton in 2022, while Demi Vollering climbed to triumph last year.
