Giro 2020 Favourites stage 2: For punchers and power sprinters

The rolling and occasionally hilly terrain suits the breakaway, although the chances that they will be successful are slim. Undoubtedly, the riders in pink and his team will want to hold the jersey in their ranks, while plenty of finishers will be eyeing the stage win.

The route is far from flat without ever becoming steep. Which is basically the story of the finish climb also. The last 3.7 kilometres ascend at 5.3% and it flattens out to 3.3% in the last 500 metres. It’s a matter of do or die for the sprinters.

Obviously, a late attack could also be succesful in such a trying finale.
