The start is in historic Ypres before the route navigates Flanders’ flat fields. After approximately 60 kilometres the first uphill zone and the riders crest the Scherpenberg, Vidaigneberg, Baneberg, Monteberg and Kemmelberg in quick succession. The route then continues to the so-called ‘plugstreets’, a section of three dirt road within 5 kilometres follow in rapid succession.
Two more obstacles remaining. The riders return to the Monteberg/Kemmelberg combo. At the top of the last hill the riders face 35 flat kilometres on wide and exposed roads. The first part goes to the north and after a passage in Ypres the last 20 kilometres go in easterly direction to the finish in Wevelgem.
Jolien D’Hoore is title holder. Last year, the Belgian sprinter outgunned Lotte Kopecky and Lisa Brennauer on the line.
