Tour de France 2015 Favourites stage 15 - Three faced stage (winner)

The stage leading form Mende to Valence has many faces. Some easy climbs to start with, a tough climb halfway, and a descent leading to a flat finale. This last section should fancy time trialists such as Rohan Dennis. Escape in the descent and stay ahead of the chasing pack. (Slideshow route/profile)

Rider who feel at ease on a versatile route like today’s go by the names of Rohan Dennis, Thomas De Gendt, Tim Wellens, Sylvain Chavanel, Jan Bakelants, Edvald Boasson Hagen, Michal Kwiatkowski, Greg Van Avermaet, Adam Hansen, Tony Gallopin and Zdenek Stybar.

If the sprinter teams are able to control the break it will be up to the tougher guys with fast legs such as Michael Matthews, John Degenkolb, Alexander Kristoff and Peter Sagan. The climbs en route probably will have worn out Cavendish.
