Tour of Qatar 2014 Route stage 2: Al Sheenaiya - Al Khor Corniche

Tour of Qatar 2014 stage 2 Al Khor CornicheMonday, February 10 – In 160.5 kilometers the contenders in the 2014 Tour of Qatar head from a camel race track to Al Khor Corniche. (Slideshow route/profile)

The Qatari love their camels, and even more: they love to race them. Near Al Sheehaniya is a camel race track, actually pretty much looking just like a horse race track. The bunch leaves here for a ride taking them to the city of Al Khor.

Al Khor is located at a creek in the north of Qatar – in fact Al Khor means ‘creek’ in Persian.

The finish line is at the promenade. In the 2013 edition a stage with exactly the same route was won by Mark Cavendish.

The stage starts at 10:30 (CET) and finishes approximately 14:20.
