Giro 2017: Results
The centenary edition of the Giro d'Italia was won by Tom Dumoulin ahead of Nairo Quintana and Vincenzo Nibali. The race came down to the last stage, which was a flat ITT, as four riders were still in close contention. The Dutch specialist powered to second place behind his compatriot Jos van Emden, thus putting enough time into his rivals Quintana, Nibali and Pinot to take the first Grand Tour in his career. Fernando Gaviria debuted in his first Grand Tour with four stage wins.
