Critérium du Dauphiné 2016 Route stage 6: La Rochette – Méribel

Criterium du Dauphine 2016 stage 6 Saturday, June 11, 2016 – At 141 kilometres, stage 6 in the Critérium du Dauphiné leads from La Rochette to Méribel with the infamous Col de la Madeleine halfway. Summit finish after a 12 kilometres closing climb with a 11.2% ramp in the dying metres of the race.

Stage 6 brings five peaks with The hors category climb up the Col de la Madeleine the most impressive. The 19.2 kilometres climb at 7.9% is crested halfway. Following the drop two 1st category climbs lay waiting with the closing climb bringing 12.3 kilometres at 6.6% to the table.

The grades at the Méribel are twice in the double digits The fifth kilometre comes with 10.4% while the last 400 metres have a ramp at 11.2% on offer. Obvioulsy, this is an open invitation to go on the attack.The finish line is in the village itself, not in Méribel-Mottaret which lies higher up the mountain.

No intermediate sprints in the Dauphiné, yet at the finish time bonuses at 10, 6 and 4 seconds lay waiting for the first three riders.
