To quote Peter Sagan: “We’ll see.” Enjoy the race!

True, but many things changed in these 2 years. Pedersen achieved both results you mentioned when he wasn’t well recognized as the elite classics rider and he was let to join breakaways in these two occasions. Actually more teams keep an eye on Mads and it is more difficult for him to achieve something in Flanders than before. But success in October’s Roubaix will be more probable. Pedersen transformed himself a bit into pure sprinter with cobbles and wet road strong abilities. Maybe I’m wrong but I’m almost sure that Stuyven will be main Trek-Segafredo weapon today.

Mads Pedersen, World Champion 2019 – not exactly a sprinters friendly parcours in Yorkshire. And in 2018 he was second in Flanders, best of the rest behind Terpstra.

Other thing is that I am amazed everytime when the cobbled classic comes because one guy proved himself many times in recent months and Cyclingstage team never mentions him in any favourites section for classics. I’m talking about Florian Senechal, unsung hero of Quickstep cobble efforts for 2 years.

a sprinter for the flatter classics so i believe Asgren
Will fare better – but in a team like Quick Step
he Will probably not get the chance
But it is Flanders
