Tour of Valencia 2020 Route stage 2: Torrent - Cullera

Thursday 6 February - At 181 kilometres, the 2nd stage of the Tour of Valencia travels from Torrent to a punchy finale in Cullera. The last 3.1 kilometres slope at 7.3%, while the steepest ramp - 21% - appears just before the line.

Cullera hosted the start of a stage in last year's Vuelta a España. The route formed a circumferential loop around Valencia before young Fabio Jakobsen sprinted to victory in El Puig.

It is unthinkable that the 2nd stage of the Volta Ciclista a la Comunitat Valenciana will see a sprint finish. The route is far from flat in the first part, but that is not the reason. Approaching Cullera the route levels out, only to change appearance in the last 3.1 kilometres.

The finish climb leads to the weather station above Cullera. The first 2 kilometres are double digit material before the slope evens out. Yet, the final 150 metres are insane with a maximum incline of 21% just before the line.

The average gradient of the finish climb sits at 7.3%.
