Tour Down Under 2016 Route stage 4: Norwood – Victor Harbor
Rohan Dennis has fond memories of Norwood. Last edition stage 3 left here to head for a top-finish at Torens Hill Road, near Paracombe. The BMC-rider won the stage, thus laying the groundwork for his overall victory.
The start of today's stage brings the Norton Summit, a 5.6 kilometres climb at 4.8%. Tim Roe is from around here and back in 2013 he set the record in 11'27".
After cresting Norton Summit that's about it as far as today's climbing is concerned. Only after reaching the coast in Port Elliot for the first time a new obstacle appears. Crow's Nest Road is a 3.9 kilometres climb at 6%. Sprinters who have been dropped have 10 to 15 kilometres left to get back in the pack.
Arrival-town Victor Harbor hosted the Tour Down Under in 2014 with a bunch sprint won by André Greipel.
The start is at 11:30 am and the finish is expected around 3:20 pm – local time. The first three riders earn 10, 6 and 4 bonification seconds.
