Race report
Two riders made up the break-away today, Dani Teklehaimanot and Laurens de Vreese. Their gap grew to a maximum of 4 minutes, that's all the sprinter teams decided to allow them. With 10 kilometres left their party was over and the bunch prepared for the sprint showdown.

Peter Sagan opened strong, confidence sky high after winning stage 3, but Mark Cavendish proved why he is regarded as one of the best sprinters in the world, displaying perfect timing and outsprinting Lobato and Sagan by two bike lengths.

Tony Martin stays in the GC lead.
