Tirreno-Adriatico 2016
The 2016 Tirreno-Adriatico was won by Greg Van Avermaet with a 1 second lead over Peter Sagan, while Bob Jungels was third. No climbers on the podium as the Queen Stage was cancelled due to snow.

Cancellara takes ITT, Van Avermaet wins overall with Sagan 1 second down
In a flat 10.1 kilometres ITT Greg Van Avermaet holds on to his lead and he wins the 2016 Tirreno-Adriatico with the tiniest of margins over Peter Sagan: 1 second. The stage victor is Fabian Cancellara after a master class time trialing.Read more »
Van Avermaet outsprints Sagan and takes leaders jersey in stage 6
At 210 kilometres, stage 6 in the Tirreno-Adriatico leads to a closing circuit on rolling roads and eventually a slightly uphill arrival. A super front group with Sagan, Van Avermaet, Kwiatkowski and leader Stybar is off with 20 kilometres left. Eventually it boils down to a sprint-a-deux between Van Avermaet and Sagan with the Belgian outperforming the World Champion and taking the leaders jersey.Read more »
Stage 5 cancelled due to snow
The Queen Stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico is cancellede due to heavy snowfall. Both the closing climb up to Monte San Vicino and mid-stage climbs are impassable. Four of the five peaks that were scheduled are lying at an elevation of over 1'100 metres.Read more »
Cummings solos to victory, Stybar retains lead
At 222 kilometres, stage 4 in the Tirreno-Adriatico is marked by rolling roads. Stephen Cummings goes solo with 3.5 kilometres left and he powers to the win. Zdenek Stybar still leads the overall classification.Read more »
Gaviria outsprints Ewan in stage 3, Stybar still in the lead
At 176 kilometres, the 3rd stage in the Tirreno-Adriatico is mostly flat. It boils down to a sprint of the young guns with Fernando Gaviria oupowering Caleb Ewan. Zdenk Stybar retains the overall lead.Read more »
