Dubai Tour 2018 Route Stage 3: Skydive Dubai - Fujairah

Dubai Tour 2018 route stage 3 Thursday, 8 February 2018 - The 3rd stage of the Dubai Tour is a 183 kilometres race across the Arabian Peninsula. As everyday, the riders start at Dubai skydive and they travel to Fujairah, capital of the emirate with the same name on the Gulf of Oman.

Once before the Dubai Tour visited Fujairah. In 2016 Marcel Kittel outsprinted Mark Cavendish and Giacomo Nizzolo.

The 3rd stage of the 2018 Dubai Tour travels mostly on the same roads, which means the route is not entirely flat. The race goes from west to east across the Arabian Peninsula and Fujairah lies on the other side of the Al Hajar Mountains. The surrounding hills peak at 1,000 metres, yet the climb is actually a prolonged false flat with the highest point some 45 kilometres before the line. A rolling descent runs to a last upward stretch, that's crested with 25 kilometres remaining. A drop leads to a finale of 15 kilometers on the flat.

The first three riders on the line in the 2018 Dubai Tour take time bonuses of 10, 6 and 4 seconds, while the intermediate sprints of stage 4 (at kilometre 38.5 and 174.6) come with 3, 2 and 1 seconds.
