foto: Cor VosThe 2027 UCI Road World Championships will take place in the French Alps, with a circuit in the Sallanches area forming the heart of the road races. Back in 1980, Bernard Hinault rode to the rainbow jersey on these very roads. The course is spiced up by the Côte de Domancy – a 2.5-kilometre climb with an average gradient of 9.4%. The reigning champions are Tadej Pogacar and Lotte Kopecky (road races), Remco Evenepoel and Grace Brown (ITT), and Australia (mixed relay).
