Race report
Despite multiple attacks, the peloton remains intact after 45 kilometres, when a group of nineteen riders breaks clear. Ellen van Dijk and Olympic Champion Kristen Faulkner are the big names on board. The leaders put more than 1 minute into the peloton, but they are caught with 46 kilometres remaining.

Soon after, Lea Lin Teutenberg, Nicole Steigenga, and Sarah Roy join forces. The three open up a lead of 1 minute and a half.

The breakaway is caught inside the final 14 kilometres. Liane Lippert takes over the attack, with Marianne Vos, Demi Vollering, and Anna van der Breggen chasing her down. Several riders follow, including Mischa Bredewold. Together with Vos and Lippert, the Amstel Gold Race winner pushes on.

With 10 kilometres remaining, the peloton comes back together and the stage is set for a sprint finish. On the slightly uphill run-in, it’s Bredewold who opens up the sprint, with Vos powering past – only for Bredewold to fight back in the final metres. She comes heartbreakingly close, but misses out by just a few millimetres.

Vollering retains the overall lead.
