Race report
Diego Rubio, Alvaro Cuadros and Luis Ángel Maté attack from the gun. The trio opens up a gap of 3 minutes before they are reeled in with 28.5 kilometres remaining.

Pre-race favorite Fabio Jakobsen sits up inside the last 1.5 kilometres. In a blink of an eye Florian Sénéchal turns lead-out man to sprinter and he outguns Matteo Trentin on the line.

Although Egan Bernal wins 5 seconds, the top 10 remains unchanged with Odd Christian Eiking leading La Vuelta.
