The race sets off from Al Maryah Island, which lies to the north east of the city centre of Abu Dhabi’s capital. The course takes in a number of laps in which the riders move through Al Saadiyet Island, Jubail Island and Yas Island. The roads are wide and flat, so the sprinters should have it their way in the last stage of the UAE Tour.

The 2019 edition saw a sprint finish in Abu Dhabi City also. Fernando Gaviria received a royal lead-out by his teammate Alexander Kristoff. The Norwegian brought the Colombian to the final straight, where he bested Elia Viviani on the line, while Caleb Ewan took third place.
