Tour de Suisse 2015 Stage 2: Stage win by smart Durasek
Stage 2 in the Tour de Suisse offers a hilly parcours in 161 kilometres. The last hill is a steep 5 km´s monster and it is there the race explodes. In the drop a small group thunders to the line and when Kristijan Durasek attacks in the last kilometre... no reaction. So that´s bingo. Dumoulin finishes in the first group, thus cementing his lead. Race report
Despite early attacks it is only after 23 km’s Jurgen Roelandts, Luka Pibernik, Cameron Meyer and Valerio Agnoli get cleaer off the front. They race to a 3 minutes advantage and there it lingers for a while, but with 45 km´s left it´s down to 2 minutes.
Meyer and Pibernik are the last escapees left, but at the closing climb they are caught. Fuglsang thunders up the hill, with Spilak and Thomas he is the first to crest. Leader Tom Dumoulin and Thibaut Pinot are 8 seconds down and in the drop it comes together. Sagan and Albasini are chasing.
The front group stays together until the last kilometre. When Durasek attacks nobody reacts and he soloes to victory.
