Tour de Romandie 2025 Route stage 5: Geneva - Geneva
Sunday 4 May – The final stage of the Tour de Romandie is an individual time trial of 17.1 kilometres with 175 metres of elevation gain. The route includes two short climbs.
The first climb comes immediately after the start: 300 metres at 7.8%, narrow and cobbled. Hardly the most comfortable way to settle into a rhythm. The opening phase is tricky in general, with lots of corners, but once out of the city it’s a matter of grinding away on the big ring. Flat, straight roads hug the shoreline of Lake Geneva before the riders tackle a 1.5-kilometre stretch at 5%. That section takes them away from the lake, and after after the main ramp, the road continues to drag ever so slightly for another 1.5 kilometres up to the intermediate time check.
The route then drops back down to Lake Geneva, where the riders hammer along the waterfront towards the City of Peace. With 1.5 kilometres to go, there’s one last bump in the road – 600 metres at 4.1%. By then, they’re back in the city centre, but this time there’s no technical twisting to deal with.
The Tour de Romandie last visited Geneva two years ago, when Fernando Gaviria sprinted to victory. The most recent ITT in the city came in 2019, when Primoz Roglic took the win – sealing the overall title in the process.
The intermediate time check is located after 11.9 kilometres.
