Tour de Romandie 2021 Route prologue: Oron-la-Ville

Tour de Romandie 2021 RouteTuesday 27 April - The Tour de Romandie sets off with a 4.05 kilometres prologue in Oron-la-Ville.

The Tour de Romandie almost always opens with prologue. In the last ten editions these riders stormed to victory: Jan Tratnik (2019), Michael Matthews (2018), Fabio Felline (2017), Ion Izagirre (2016) en Michal Kwiatkowski (2014), Chris Froome (2013), Geraint Thomas (2012), and Jonathan Castroviejo (2011).

Missing a year? Right, 2015. Unusually, the Tour de Romandie began with a team time trial, which was won by Team Sky.

The course of the prologue is very straightforward. Following 3.2 kilometres on the flat The riders climb to Oron Castle, which is a challenging uphill section – roughly 1 kilometre and with an average gradient of 8%.
