withdrawals - Tour de France 2025: Withdrawalsfoto: Cor VosOn 5 July, 184 riders set off from Lille, spread across 23 teams. Not all of them will make it to the finish in Paris. Cyclingstage.com keeps track of the riders who abandon.

Early in the opening stage, Filippo Ganna and Stefan Bissegger both hit the tarmac. They got back on their bikes, but neither would make it to the finish. The two time trial specialists thus became the first riders to abandon the 2025 Tour.

Green jersey Jasper Philipsen crashed hard in the run-up to the intermediate sprint and was forced to pull out.

Pogacar’s domestique João Almeida crashed heavily in the 7th stage and was forced to abandon two days later.

Last year, Michele Gazzoli was the first rider to abandon. The domestique for Mark Cavendish was forced to quit during stage 1 due to heat exhaustion. Podium contender Primoz Roglic had to withdraw after crashing in stage 12. In total, 35 riders did not reach the end of the Tour.
