Tour de France 2021 Favourites stage 12: Sprint after crosswinds

The area around Nîmes is not only known for the hottest summer of France, but also for weather phenomena such as the the Mistral, Tramontana and Sirocco. In short, strong winds are not uncommon.

Mark Cavendish will not mind. He is the fastest finisher on this Tour and he rides for the specialist in terms of navigating the echelons, Deceuninck-QuickStep.

Given the relatively flat and exposed course with a possibility of echelons, we estimate that Cavendish has splendid credentials.
