The 20th stage in the Tour de France is a chrono-race of 22.5 kilometres. The route is mostly flat, except for an explosive climb to the iconic symbol of Marseille, the basilica Notre-Dame de la Garde. The 1.2 kilometres climb at 9.1% runs to the summit, which is crested at kilometres 15.6.
The battle for stage victory rages alongside the war for the overall win. The ITT is the last chance for GC contenders to put time into their rivals. That is, most GC guys will want to limit their losses; the best time triallists in the top 10 are Froome and Uran.
Last year, the Tour de France took in an uphill time trial in the final week. Chris Froome won, thus deepening the gap between him and the rest of the field. The last time La Grande Boucle featured an ITT on the penultimate day was in 2014. On a hilly course of 54 kilometres Tony Martin powered to victory.
Stage 1 of the 2017 Tour de France was a flat ITT of 14 kilometres. Geraint Thomas took the win ahead of Stefan Küng.

How about Valverde and De Gendt?
Good choices as well,
we will adjust the list with favourites during the Tour de France, if they show good shape we will certainly add them.
