Tour de France 2016 Route stage 6: Arpajon-sur-Cère – Montauban

Tour de France 2016 stage 6Thursday, July 7, 2016 – After the climbs in Massif Central, stage 6 of the 2016 Tour de France seems to be tailor made for a bunch of escapees. In between Arpajon-sur-Cère and Montauban are 190.5 kilometres. Or are the sprinters teams going to control the race to bring their fast men to the fore?

Arpajon is to host the Tour de France for the first time in history, but Montauban is another story. Back in the ninetees it was the setting of the swansong of the TVM team. In 1998, Jacky Durand did win stage 8, but all attention was drawn to two TVM mecanics who had been transporting packets of EPO earlier that year. Of course, we are talking Le Tour Dopage here, and TVM, Festina and all Spanish teams were forced to leave the Tour de France.

On March 22, 2013, Montauban was once more a sad scene when former road racing cyclist Laurent Jalabert was seriously injured after he was hit by a car during a bike ride.

It’s high time to write a beautiful chapter in cycling history in Montauban! The 2016 Tour de France is a perfect occasion…

The first three riders on the line take time bonuses at 10, 6 and 4 seconds.

Chris From,Quintana,Contador y Aru descuidaron la escapada por estar ellos cuidandose uno al otro, faltan muchas etapas pero los errores cuestan.
