Ruta del Sol 2018 Route stage 5: Barbate - Barbate

Ruta del Sol 2018 stage 5Sunday, 18 February 2018 - The Ruta del Sol concludes with a 14.2 kilometres individual time trial with start and finish in Barbate. The route is spiced up by a slightly uphill section of almost 5 kilometres on unpaved roads.

The riders roll down the start ramp and shortly they enter the Parque Natural de la Breña y Marismas de Barbate. From kilometre 1.3 to kilometre 6 the route continues on a false flat gravel-road. Thereafter, the riders race on the flat until kilometre 11, where they drop down to a flat last kilometre.

Last year, the Ruta del Sol’s ITT was short and rolling and Victor Campenaerts turned out on top, while Tejay van Garderen took the more hilly chrono-race of two years ago with a 2 seconds lead over Wilco Kelderman.
