Race report
Edward Planckaert, Ben Swift, Thibault Guernalec, Vincenzo Albanese, Andreas Leknessund, Sylvain Moniquet, Dion Smith, and Thomas Gachignard jump clear in the run-up to the Côte de Lavoine. The lead of the eight extends to over 3 minutes.

Smith loses contact on the Côte du Canon. He winds up in a chase group with Joshua Tarling and Tobias Foss.

With around 50 kilometres to go, the race is neutralised due to bad weather.

Just before the intermediate sprint in Le Mayet-de-Montagne, the race resumes. Leknessund bags the 6 seconds.

On the Côte de la Chabanne, the chasers catch up with the leading group, but the peloton is not far behind.

Foss heads out alone on the climb to the line. As the ascent progresses, the GC favorites close in to the former ITT World Champion, and Jonas Vingegaard leaps across to the former time trial world champion in the last 2 kilometres. Lenny Martinez follows him, that is, for a while, and when he is dropped, the Dane is alone.

Vingegaard’s lead never exceeds 10 seconds, so the chasers remain hopeful. João Almeida turns that hope into reality by closing the gap in the final few hundred metres and overhauling him just before the line. Stage win for the Portuguese, yellow jersey for the two-time Tour de France winner.
