Race report
Jonas Gregaard escapes from the gun and Sandy Dujardin joins him on the Côte de Coise. Gregaard cements his lead in the KOM competition on the top, which he repeats on the Côte de l’Aubépin and Côte de Treves. He waits for the peloton after that last climb, while Dujardin is caught with 90 kilometres to go.
The peloton remains bunched for the rest of the day until the intermediate sprint injects some excitement. David Gaudu gains a time bonus of 6 seconds ahead of his team mate Arnaud Démare, while Tadej Pogacar takes 2.
Young Olav Kooij outguns Mads Pedersen in the ensuing bunch sprint. Tim Merlier begins his srint too far back and finished in third.
Tadej Pogacar stays in yellow, 6 seconds ahead of his main rival David Gaudu. Jonas Vingegaard sits in third, another 38 seconds further behind.
