Race report
Lukas Pöstlberger, Benjamin Perry, Fabien Grellier, Matteo Dal-Cin, Sean De Bie and Jasha Sütterlin are in the break of the day. They race to a 6 minutes lead.

Sean De Bie and Jasha Sütterlin were the last riders to join and they are the first to break.

With two laps remaining the front group is history. Pöstlberger pushes on for a little bit, but to no avail. A group with Gautier, Costa, Roux, Voeckler, Oomen, Vakoc and Stetina forces a gap. When the bell rings for the last round they are almost reeled in when Diego Rosta launches an attack. Yet, he doesn’t make it.

With 9 kms left Rui Costa opens up a gap. Je holds on to it until the last U-turn and with 500 metres left he is brought bach. In the uphill sprint Van Avermaet bests Sagan, thus taking revenge for the Grand Prix de Quebec, when it was the other way around.

cant find any comment on why so many dnf. was there a bad crash or weather???

    • Hendrik Eppinga says:

It is mostly because it was easy just to quit. The riders passed the busses every round and if you cannot win anymore or help your teammates the choice is not so difficult.
